AL Trouts In The Win

Mike Trout drove in two runs with two crucial hits as he led the AL to a 5-3 victory against the NL squad. As the result, the AL gets home-field advantage throughout the World Series. Trout's RBI hits came in the form of a triple and a double. 

 

The 85th All-Star Game will be remembered as Derek Jeter's last game. Jeter had two hits and scored a run. He exited the 4th inning and got a standing ovation from the crowd.

 

Miguel Cabrera provided the AL with a three-run bomb in the first inning off NL starter Adam Wainwright in the 1st inning.

2013 Home Run Derby Champion, Yoenis Cespedes, successfully defended his crown in dominating fashion as he smashed NL Champ Todd Frazier 10 homers to 1. Cespedes becomes the first back-to-back champion since Ken Griffey Jr over a decade ago. In total, Cespy dominated the entire competition with a total of 30 home runs.

Rangers prospect Joey Gallo put on a display during the Futures Game and batting practice. Gallo powered off a two-run blast to lead the U.S to a 3-2 victory against the World. Gallo was named the MVP of the game. Cubs prospect Javier Baez added a home run in the winning cause.   .
