HISTORY MADE AT THE 50TH EDITION
For the first time in the history of the MLB Draft, the first three picks were all shortstops. The Diamondbacks,as expected, selected Vanderbilt shortstop Dansby Swanson as the first overall #1 pick. The Astros, rewarded for not signing last year's #1 in Brady Aiken, selected LSU standout Alex Bregman. Rounding out the top 3, the Rockies selected top high school prep star Brendan Rodgers.

NOTABLES
Every single year, sons of former MLB players and present front office personnel will be selected among the pool of high school and collegiate prospects. Even the brothers of present MLB players will have their names called upon to be part of the organization. Notables this year include Mike Cameron's son, who was highly touted in the draft.
