The Royals showed what it took to win the whole thing by never giving up till it's really over. Trailing in both games late, the Royals pulled comebacks that knocked the sails off the Mets and the fans at Citi Field. It was in Game 5 that pretty much changed the dynamic of the game. With Mets starter Matt Harvey pitching into the ninth, the Royals staged a comeback beginning with Eric Hosmer's RBI double. Then World Series MVP, Salvador Perez, drove him in a RBI fielder's choice to tie the game. In extras, the Royals opened up the floodgates in the 12th on Mets long reliever Bartolo Colon as Christian Colon put the Royals up for good, and, Lorenzo Cain completely sealed the deal with a bases clearing double. Closer Wade Davis struck out the Mets Wilmer Flores to give the Royals there first title in 30 years. It was one heck of a run for the Royals who avoided a scare from the Astros, and outplayed the heavily favored Blue Jays.
