THE FINAL RANKINGS

Dodgers Started On Top, End On Top

The 2025 season is officially history as the Los Angeles Dodgers finish up as World Series Champions. Not only as champions, but back-to-back champions. The Dodgers opened up the power rankings at #1; they were one of two of the teams to open up the season in Japan. They closed out the regular season at #1, while others penciled the Milwaukee Brewers as the team to close out the regular season. In the postseason, they mowed down the Cincinnati Reds in the Wild-Card round. It was the next two rounds that gave an undivided attention. In the division series, the Dodgers avenged the Philadelphia Phillies as they disposed them in four games; the Phillies were the better team in their season matchup. It was in the league champion series where it was apparent the Dodgers had a beef to settle with the Milwaukee Brewers. They never forgot about that four-game sweep to open up the second-half. In dominating fashion, the Dodgers put the top seeded team in its place as they swept them in four to repeat as NL Champions. The two rounds symbolized revenge.

The Toronto Blue Jays came in as the team that created all this chaos in the AL East as they dethroned the New York Yankees from first-place. That four-game sweep at home in late June set the tone for the Boston Red Sox to enter the race (and ultimately the postseason). When it came to the postseason, the Blue Jays vanquished their division rivals in four games in the division series. In the championship series, the Blue Jays took the Seattle Mariners the entire length of the series to win their first pennant since 1993. In the same fashion, they took the Los Angeles Dodgers the entire series, only to fall short in the top of the ninth inning where the Dodgers woke up in an unexpected fashion. It was a good year for the Blue Jays and there is nothing that can be taken away from them.

This concludes the 2025 season. See what 2026 holds as it will pick back up in February.
