Who will make their mark among the Top 25 Midseason Rankings?

Two of the top ten midseason prospects are putting their mark in the bigs thus far with the Orioles C/1B Samuel Basallo and the Pirates electrifying pitcher in Bubba Chandler. Basallo has solidified his mark in an everyday mode, and an eight-year extension. Chandler has displayed his dominating stuff in relief, as the club is watching his development very closely.

Coming in at #1 is SS/OF Konnor Griffin (PIRATES). The '24 overall top ten draft pick is billed to having five-tool potential. At #2, Detroit Tigers SS/OF Kevin McGonigle occupies that spot as he moved up the system into the upper levels with his above-average speeds and his exit velocities off the bat. The next phenom of outstanding Milwaukee Brewers prospects comes in at #3 with SS Jesus Made: he is a switch-hitter with a plate discipline garnering special status. Rangers 3B/SS Sebastian Walcott comes in at #4 who made his mark in the South Atlantic League with All-Star honors; he thrived against older competition. Making the headlines during the trade deadline in the Mason Miller deal: the A's SS Leo De Vries at #5: who possess switch-hitter ability and a exceptional knowledge of the zone. Another top ten '24 draft pick, the Cardinals SS J.J Wetherholt (#6), has climbed up the farm system with his arm and his athleticism; he could bump the present shortstop on the club to a different position. Detroit Tigers OF Max Clark (#9) continues to move up the farm system with his plus arm strength and speed. Rounding out the top 10 is the Mariners 3B/SS Colt Emerson; he has shown his smooth left-hand swing and his athleticism.

HOW THE RANKINGS ARE DETERMINED

The mid-season prospect rankings are determined by the sum of the rankings from the following sources: Baseball America, MLB Pipeline, and Prospects Live.  After getting the sum from those publications, it is divided by 3 to get the average. The lower the average. the higher the ranking.

There are lists that have prospects that are ranked on their list but not ranked here. The requirement to be ranked on this list is that the prospect has to be ranked on all three sources that is in use.  Apologize for the trouble if your prospect is not on this list. Hopefully, he will show up next year on our annual TOP 50 PROSPECTS LIST
