2014: A Look Back

IN REVIEW
WINNERS AND LOSERS
Big time signings, trades, and surprises highlight the activity market

As the new trading period is well-underway, we look back at the trades that dominated last season's period. The big-time signings, the trades (including the July trading deadline), and the surprises.........we look at the true winners and losers. Unlike other publications that quickly declare which teams and players benefitted from the moves, we wait till the season is ENTIRELY OVER.
The Robinson Cano gigantic deal has paid off thus far while the Yankees slew of veteran signings backfired. The A's and Rays made one disasterous move but was able to recover during the trade deadline. The Los Angeles Dodgers and the Philadelphia Phillies squandered opportunities to unload key pieces. In the end, the ingenius moves of the San Francisco Giants paid off (Hudson,Morse,Peavy) as they garnered their third championship in five years. Enjoy the list of players and teams that made the list and decide if the right choices were made.
