THE CURSE IS OVER!!!

The longest title drought in sports history finally ended as the Chicago Cubs won the World Series. The title was 108 years in the making and it was well-worth it. Cubs President Theo Epstein had a plan to build a team that would ultimately win a championship. It took five years to make it happen, and, it came with some lousy beginnings.
It was an epic 7th game which featured an Indians comeback against one of baseball's best relievers, a fifteen minute rain delay, and an extra inning affair. In the end, the Cubs came through and locked down the series. The curse, the billy goat and the notion of being called the "lovable losers" all will be no more.
The Cubs postseason featured the battle against the even year-minded Giants in the division series, to the often troublesome Dodgers team in the league championship series. The Dodges gave the Cubs fits throughout the regular season. In the end,the Cubs prevailed when it counted the most; especially in the clutch
The Cubs started #1 in the preseason rankings, #1 to end the regular season, and #1 overall in the very end. An impressive way to live up to expectations, especially key acquisitions made throughout the off-season to all the way to the trade deadline.
So where do the Cubs go from here? With the core of their team in place, they could win multiple titles with this staff as they have a bright future and a farm system that will continue to produce potential players that could make an impact in the show. Free agents will want to come here. The test will be if they can sign their closer, Aroldis Chapman, beyond this recently completed season. Nevertheless, the Cubs will be a force to reckon with for years to come.
