2015: A Look Back

A Trouting Encore for the AL

6

3

For the second consecutive year, Angels outfielder Mike Trout played a key role in the AL's third consecutive win versus the NL. Trout lead-off the game with a home run, and ran wild on the basepaths like a speeding race car. As the end result, Trout won the game's MVP award for the second consecutive year. Therefore, Trout becomes the first player to win back-to-back MVP awards in consecutive years. So, the AL wraps up home field for The Fall Classic.

There were other vital factors that won the AL the game: Royals outifielder Lorenzo Cain had an RBI double; Prince Fielder drove in 2 RBIs; Manny Machado had an RBI double; and Brian Dozier added a solo dinger.

The NL had contributions in the losing cause as Zack Greinke struck out 4 of the 6 batters faced, making him the first pitcher to accomplish that feat since 1999 when Pedro Martinez did the same thing; Jacob deGrom dominated the order in ten pitches making him the first to do such a feat; Andrew McCutchen belted a solo shot as well as he provided the only spectacular display of offense

The Red Of

A Champion

It was an exciting finish to a new format that brought wild results.

With the score tied 14-14, Frazier hit the deciding home run to bring the title as champion in front of the home crowd. Frazier beat the Dodgers Joc Pederson in walk-off fashion.

Frazier, who was runner-up last season, didn't lose a beat at all as he beat Prince Fielder and Josh Donaldson respectively to return to the Finals. It seemed he was in trouble when he was up against the resurgent Rangers slugger.

Pederson, on the other hand, was a player that was worth watching as he swatted a number of long distance ones, including a 487 foot bomb.

So a memorable one for the hometown team as they can proclaim the champ lives here.

Schwarber leads the way in rout of The World Team

Named Futures MVP

This time last year, Kyle Schwarber was beginning his road to the show by starting out up in the Northwest League. In a short period of time,he has moved up the system where he would display the kind of power more suitable for the next level. When he got the taste of the big leagues, he showed what fans can expect in the future on a daily basis.

In this year's edition of the Futures Game. Schwarber showed the kind of force the Cubs will look forward to when he lead the US Team to a 10-1 rout of the World Team. Schwarber went 1 for 3 and drove in two runs, including a two-run triple that helped break the game wide open.

FROM MLB,COM

"It was awesome to come out and actually step on the field I grew up watching ballgames on. It was special. My eyes lit up as soon as I stepped on it,"

Schwarber lives north of the Cincinnati area in the town of Middleton. It was an awesome sight to actually step on the field and show what he can do in a showcase like this.
