A Trouting Encore for the AL

6
3
For the second consecutive year, Angels outfielder Mike Trout played a key role in the AL's third consecutive win versus the NL. Trout lead-off the game with a home run, and ran wild on the basepaths like a speeding race car. As the end result, Trout won the game's MVP award for the second consecutive year. Therefore, Trout becomes the first player to win back-to-back MVP awards in consecutive years. So, the AL wraps up home field for The Fall Classic.
There were other vital factors that won the AL the game: Royals outifielder Lorenzo Cain had an RBI double; Prince Fielder drove in 2 RBIs; Manny Machado had an RBI double; and Brian Dozier added a solo dinger.
The NL had contributions in the losing cause as Zack Greinke struck out 4 of the 6 batters faced, making him the first pitcher to accomplish that feat since 1999 when Pedro Martinez did the same thing; Jacob deGrom dominated the order in ten pitches making him the first to do such a feat; Andrew McCutchen belted a solo shot as well as he provided the only spectacular display of offense
