The Top Two Wins
The top two overall prospects had a taste of the show during the second-half of the '22 season. In '23, they showed up their true talent. After a slow start to get things going at the plate (and an injury to Rangers 3B Josh Jung), Gunnar showed why he was the overall top prospect in all of baseball. Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll had a lot going for him as he showed his athletic talent and hitting at the plate throughout the season; it earned him All-Star honors. As the result of their first-year performance, they were awarded the AL and NL Rookie-Of-The-Year. Congratulations to the two first-year players full of impact potential.
While the winners showed out, Reds dynamic shortstop in Elly De La Cruz came up to the bigs swinging and showed off his true five-tool talent. Elly got the attention of teams around the league but his superstar potential is enormous. There might be some work he may need to do to take it to another level, but baseball's newest exciting player is here to stay.
