The Rangers Joey Gallo hit a home run, that proved to be the difference maker, as the AL beat the NL for the seventh consecutive year 4-3. The victory gives the AL control of home field advantage throughout the Fall Classic.
The Indians Shane Bieber gave the hometown fans something else to celebrate as he was named the All-Star MVP. The pitcher struck out three NL batters in a row.
The AL opened up the scoring with the Astros Michael Brantley driving in the first run. Later, the Twins Jorge Polanco drove in the team's second run. The Red Sox Xander Bogaerts drove in the team's third run with a RBI ground out. Then Gallo delivered the final run with the home run.
The Rockies Charlie Blackmon delievered the NL's first run with a solo home run. The big story is the Mets Pete Alonso, who just the other night won an exciting Home Run Derby, delivered a two-run single to pull it within one run.
The Yankees Aroldis Chapman shut down the door to give the AL the victory.
Next year's Midsummer Classic heads to L.A. next year.

The T-Mobile Home Run Derby
TOTALLY EPIC
In an amazing display between the game's top rookies, it was Pete Alonso coming out on top as he beat the record-breaking Vladimir Guerrero Jr to be this year's Home Run Derby Champion.
It was possible for Alonso not to reach the finals thanks to his slow starts, only to get hot towards the end. He was up against hometown favorite, Carlos Santana, in the first round as he barely got by. It took a walk-off against Ronald Acuna Jr, in the second round, to advance to the finals.
For the runner-up Guerrero Jr: he shattered the most home runs hit in the derby as he amassed a total of 91 home runs. It was highlighted by a slugging display against Joc Pederson in the second round as they combined for a total of 70 home runs. Guerrero hit enough good to win the title but Alonso got hot in the end to deny him in being the champion.
The SIRIUSXM Futures Game
FIT TO BE TIED
In a annual event that featured a number of firsts, including the AL vs. NL format, it was an even draw as Rangers prospect Sam Huff hit a decisive 2-run home run to prevent the AL from going down in defeat. As a reward, Huff received the Futures Game MVP award.
