Back in 2014, Sports Illustrated declared the Houston Astros will win the 2017 World Series.

 

Three years later, the Astros were among the preseason favorites to win baseball's coveted trophy. In the end, they fulfilled that expectation as they went the full series against another favorite, the Los Angeles Dodgers. It was a series for the ages as it set offensive records and exciting outcomes. The clash of 100-win teams will be among the World Series match ups to remember.

 

The young nucleus of the Astros came to light as they battered the vaunted Dodgers pitching staff, which was among the best in baseball. The addition of power arm pitcher, Justin Verlander, made the team stronger.The bounce back season of ace pitcher, Dallas Keuchel, benefited the team tremendously.

 

Don't expect this club to go away anytime soon as they will have key pieces intact for the next few seasons. Their farm system looks strong as they continue to build more impact players for the future.
