IN THE SHOW

The Rise Of Superstars

This year's rookie class was the strongest it has been for years as eight of the top ten overall top prospects made their presence felt throughout the season. The Junior Circuit made more of an impact than their counterpart as it showcased the future of the league. Mariners outfielder Julio Rodriguez led the cast that included SS Bobby Witt Jr, C Adley Rustchman, 1B Spencer Torkelson, OF Riley Greene, SS Jeremy Pena, SP George Kirby and SP Reid Detmers. Midseason #1, Orioles shortstop Gunnar Henderson, arrived to the show in the second-half.

As it was wide open in the NL, a leader didn't pop up until the middle of the season as Braves outfielder Michael Harris II burst into the scene and became part of the conversation. The expectancy was Pirates shortstop ONeil Cruz to lead the pack after a splendid late season audition; he did come around but not at an immediate impact to be ROY material. Other top NL prospects that made their presence felt included SP Hunter Greene, SP Nick Lodolo, 2B Norman Gorman and 2B/SS CJ Abrams. Diamondbacks OF Corbin Carroll and Mets C Francisco Alvarez got a taste in the second-half.

Congratulations to Mariners outfielder Julio Rodriguez and to Braves outfielder Michael Harris II for winning this year's prestigious Rookie-Of-The-Year award. They both show superstar potential for years to come.
