The Los Angeles Dodgers finished the regular season at #1. In the end, the Los Angeles Dodgers finished as baseball's #1 team as they dominated the New York Yankees in five games.

Usually, the team that finishes on top at the regular season doesn't finish #1 at the very end of the campaign. The Dodgers proved wrong just that with all-around hitting, and, a patchwork starting pitching rotation that have been ravaged by injuries.

Along their road to the title-the Dodgers got by what was projected to be the biggest threat in the wild-card San Diego Padres, a team within their division that went knocking on first place on a few occasions, in the NLDS in five games. Then in the NLCS, they got by another wild-card in the New York Mets in six games. The Mets shocked the division champion Philadelphia Phillies in the NLDS.

 

The quest for the championship began in the off-season with the record signing of elite superstar Shohei Ohtani. In the end it was the bat of Freddie Freeman and the support of Teoscar Hernandez (another off-season signee) that brought over the hardware to the organization.
