Guardians Go Down Under

The Cleveland Guardians could have gone in so many different ways with the #1 pick. In the end, they decided to go Aussie as they selected Oregon State second baseman, Travis Bazzana. The talented second baseman has five-tool potential as he showed off his power and speed throughout his time in Corvallis.

The majority of the teams chose the experience of the college route. The teams drafted the following: the #2 Cincinnati Reds (P Chase Burns), #3 Colorado Rockies (OF Charlie Condon), #4 Oakland A's (1B Nick Kurtz), #5 Chicago White Sox (P Hagen Smith), #6 Kansas City Royals (1B/P Jac Caglianone), #7 St Louis Cardinals (SS JJ Wetherholt), #8 Los Angeles Angels (2B Christian Moore) and #10 Washington Nationals (SS Seaver King)

There was only one high-schooler that was drafted in the Top Ten. The Pittsburgh Pirates went with Mississippi high school prep star. Konnor Griffin. The organization was enamored with his upside and his highest ceiling.

These players will participate this Summer in the draft league. Who will get their first will depend on who will move up their respective farm system.
